Abstract

China’s and Germany’s economies hold very strong positions in a global context. Why is that so? One important factor of a well-functioning economy is a county’s educational and vocational system, which in the future will have to meet particular challenges. Germany’s dual system of combining practical and theoretical education is widely acknowledged as an example of achieving good results. With China’s Policy of Reform and Openness (1978) the process of international exchange and cooperation in vocational training started to develop. 40 years of international exchange and cooperation produced new forms of learning: The School-Enterprise Cooperation. On this basis, models of learning place cooperation will be discussed and in this paper. Moreover, it will also be discussed how the two systems could benefit from each other. For the comparative study Bereday’s four stage method will be applied. © 2019 by the authors.
