Abstract

In order to implement the rural revitalization strategy and train high-quality applied talents in the field of agricultural facilities and equipment, the necessity of carrying out the "tutorial system of morality education and talent cultivation" was expounded. Taking the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Beijing Agricultural Vocational College as an example, it introduced some effective ways to explore the educational model of the "tutorial system of morality education and talent cultivation" starting from 2018. This comprised of selecting a mentor who was both moral and able, and forming a relationship with students "teachers and friends, helps the needy", to guide and help the students a one-to-one engagement. This summed up the implementation effect of the "tutorial system of morality education and talent cultivation" after guiding and assisting students in the whole process from admission to graduation. The students in this class were psychologically bright and self-motivated, and the learning atmosphere in this class was strong, united, and cooperative, with firm professional beliefs and clear career goals. There were no problems such as weak collective concept, lack of social responsibility, lack of initiative, the fear of heavy work, pursuit of self-enjoyment, escape of difficulties, money worship, and emotional depression. Until graduation, the class did not have a student who repeated, dropped out of school, or violated school rules. In the graduate post internship initiative, the students of this class were proactive, willing to work hard, studying business, affirmed by the employers. The employment counterpart ratio in the field of the agricultural equipment had reached more than 95%. Through practice, the establishment of a mentor system is worth promoting in higher vocational colleges as an effective mode of education. © 2021 Journal of Chinese Agricultural Mechanization.
