In the context of the continuous COVID-19 waves in the world and in Vietnam, the regulations on social distancing become more stringent, leading to workers to experience online work for a long time. Therefore, it is more difficult for final-year students to find internships, to experience the reality of the workplace and to discover more about their future career opportunities. This study aims to explore and identify factors that influence the employment choices of final-year students majoring in International Business, namely self-concept, social support, family support, internship experiences, academic achievement, and financial expectations. The authors used the method of analysis of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on data collected from final-year students majoring in International Business at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City. The results show that most factors have an impact on students’ intentions to choose jobs, in which Family support and finance expectation are considered the two factors with the strongest impact. Finally, based on the research results, the authors will make a number of recommendations and administrative implications for the recruitment activities of the business and the training activities of the University. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
