In order not to waste the resources provided for vocational education by both families and the state, graduates are expected to take part in employment or higher levels of education in their fields. In this context, it was examined whether the dimensions affecting the perceptions of secondary school students about the quality of service they receive from education affect satisfaction positively or not. Later, the effects of students’ satisfaction with the educational service they received and their perception towards the sector on their intention to continue were analyzed. Finally, it was examined whether the sector perception plays a regulatory role between students’ satisfaction and their intention to continue. In the study, in which the quantitative method was preferred, the data obtained from 2198 students studying in the field of food and beverage was analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM). As a result of the research, it was found that the dimensions of the SERVPERF Model, which are physical quality, reliability, responsiveness and empathy, positively affect satisfaction; satisfaction and sector perception seem to have an effect on the intention to continue. However, for the intention to continue here, rather than satisfaction, the perception of the sector comes to the fore. As a result of the structural equation model, one of the remarkable results of the study is that the sector perception plays a regulatory role in the effect of satisfaction on the intention to continue. The study reveals the importance of working together for the schools and the sector in order for students to continue their profession, and in this direction, the preparation of contents such as skills training (internship), practical courses and curriculum together in enterprises. © 2022.
