Abstract

Over the past few years, there has been a growing emphasis on the importance of employability for students enrolled in higher education. The capacity of a student to obtain and maintain employment is what is meant by "employability." This capacity is influenced by several factors, including academic achievement, a perception of one's capability, and organizational encouragement, among others. However, there is a lack of research evaluating these factors as predictors of employability. Therefore, this research investigates the effects of self-efficacy, academic performance, and organizational support on the employability of Chinese students pursuing higher vocational degrees in the West. The present study employed a quantitative methodology, with 456 students from six provinces completing a questionnaire measuring various factors. The collected data was analyzed using the PLS-SEM and SmartPLS 3.0 programs. According to the findings, self-efficacy, organizational support, and academic achievement have a positive effect on the employability of higher vocational students. © 2023, International Forum of Management Scholars.
