Abstract

The improvement of main courses' competencies in the study program D3 Building Construction and D3 Civil Construction of PNJ are influenced significantly by the advancement in technology and changes in the people and industries' paradigm. This study analyzes the perspective of alumni satisfaction towards the main courses' competencies. The analysis uses descriptive statistics and Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) method. The results show that seven out of eight main courses' competencies lie on the 2nd quadrant. It means that those competencies are important for them, and they are capable to perform well. There is only one main course that lies in the 1st quadrant. It means that the course is important, but they are not capable to perform. The recommendations are discussed based on the results such as implementing industrial internship, enhancing the concept of the smart classroom, and applying Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the in-depth learning activities. This research contributes to the curriculum development in both study programs to polish the quality of PNJ graduates in the professional construction industries. © 2023 Author(s).
