The increasing requirements for graduates of engineering specialties are due to the growing complexity of manufactured products and technological processes. In research paper authors considered global trends and concepts of engineering education. The main ones are the increasing requirements for knowledge and skills that modern engineers must possess, and the need to bridge the gap between fundamental training and the practical application of the acquired skills. To ensure the required level, it is necessary to make adjustments to the educational process, in which a practice-oriented approach plays a significant role, being a link between theoretical disciplines and real tasks. For the most effective implementation of this approach, it is necessary to strengthen cooperation between universities and industrial enterprises. The article provides examples of the use of AI in educational programs in order to solve these problems improve the quality of engineering education and better prepare graduates for solving real production problems. © 2023 Author(s).
