Artificial Intelligence: Investigating the Impact of Teacher's Awareness, Perception, and Learning Motivation on Learning Evaluation

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a reality for teachers in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape. AI's application in education has the potential to improve classroom learning efficiency. However, many teachers in Indonesia still don't have any awareness of artificial intelligence. Teachers' perspectives on AI are limited to technologies used outside of education, so motivation to learn about AI must be strengthened. Teachers' lack of understanding of these influences how they evaluate student learning in the classroom. With the world's fourth-largest internet user base, Indonesia is considered a technologically literate country. As a result, the purpose of this research is to learn more about AI and its applications in Indonesian education. This study also seeks to determine the extent to which instructor understanding, perception, and motivation to learn about artificial intelligence (AI) influence classroom learning evaluation. This study included 502 Indonesian teachers from kindergarten to high school who had at least a bachelor's or master's degree. The SPSS 21 program validated and analysed the instruments used in this study. We performed statistical tests on the data to establish a relationship between the independent and dependent variables. This study used a simultaneous one-way ANOVA test to establish the size of the influence between factors. This study revealed several facts about the use of AI in Indonesian education, showing that teacher awareness, perception, and motivation to learn about AI all impact the evaluation of learning. © 2024 IEEE.
