Vocational high school graduates who are directly placed in a job position by the school will reduce the number of freelancers from those school graduates and will also have a direct impact on the number of unemployed vocational high school graduates. This study aims to measure the impact of direct job placement on vocational students compared to the number of graduates who are unemployed. The main indicator that the number of direct job placements is directly employed and indirectly working is the MoU between vocational high school and the industry that regulates this collaboration. This study uses descriptive quantitative methods and data collection using open questionnaires and study documentation. The results of this study found that the absorption of vocational high school graduates who were placed directly in the industry was 5.54% of the total number of recorded vocational high school graduates. This is to place the level of placement of vocational high school graduates to work directly in the industry is still in the very small category, but it can reduce the number of vocational high school graduates. Direct work placement, if carried out thoroughly, will match the needs of the workforce with the labor provider. © 2024 Author(s).
