We carried out a study to improve students' problem-solving skills through project-based learning (PjBL) on Archimedes' principle material. Subjects consisting of 29 students were randomly selected to take part in learning with a one-group pre-test post-test design. Data analysis used t-test analysis. The research results showed that there was an increase in students' problem-solving skills on the indicators of acceptance, problem, and fact findings, however the low increasing on idea, and solution findings. The T-test analysis result shows a significant difference in the average scores of the pre-test and post-test. This shows that the implementation of PjBL on Archimedes' principle material can improve students' problem-solving skills. Although in general, project-based learning can improve students' problem-solving skills, this study is not optimal, especially on idea and solution findings. The weakness of this research is that it was only carried out in two meetings. This study can be implemented into further project-based learning in several cycles to make the problem-solving skills to be more trained well. © School of Engineering, Taylor’s University.
