Project based learning – Reflecting back on our own experience and relating to present situations

Abstract

We reviewed a report on engineering projects as community service program of Purdue University integrating service, learning and professional practice, which was reported as effective meeting outcome based engineering education. Taking cues from this report, we reflected back our own capstone (final year B.Tech.) project experience, initial professional experience and relate to present problem of un-employability of fresh graduates in Tamilnadu. We propose our VelTech University capstone (final year B.Tech. Projects) approach with or without integrating service similar to Purdue University as a feasible solution to solve the large scale un-employability problem. © Research India Publications.
