Apprenticeship proves to be a powerful indicator of social inequalities. How to characterize the way it reproduces the hierarchical organization of individuals, and the sexual and social division of work? Focusing on working relationships, allows highlighting the meaning apprentices grant to their own experiences and then understand the constraints they face in the way they encounter them and how they attempt to find ways around This analysis reveals that observed inequalities are neither reducible to a form of academic domination nor to basic discriminatory practices.
